Married at Standerton, Transvaal on 8 May 1954, Anna Susanna Fourie. Died on 11 June 1969 at Port Shepstone. Children Eric Leon Aspeling( Born 15 March 1955) and Alida Maria Aspeling ( born 27June 1956) Died of coronary thrombosis, pectoris obesity.

"In a letter by P. du Toit, the minister of the Nederduits Hervormede congregation of Lichtenburg on the 17th Oct 1922, to the Abraham Kreil Kinderhuis in Langelate Johannesburg permission is asked to send 4 Aspeling children to the orphanage. The minister states further that the community will look after the the older two children. The minister states(my translation) "We have six children of the Aspeling family here, in a sad state. The Father was killed in the rebellion and the mother died suddenly. They are totally orphans. Where they were staying there was no harvest for the second year running"The following four children were accepted and into the orphanage on the 9th February 1923:
